Lehigh Valley Zoo is a long-standing community treasure in Schnecksville, PA. The Zoo, originally founded in 1906 by General Harry C. Trexler, has educated and entertained more than five million people since its origin as a bison and elk preserve. The Zoo was initially constructed in 1974 into a 29-acre facility when the County of Lehigh took ownership of the preserve. Since 2005, the Zoo has more than double its annual visitors.
